December 2022 Professor Highlight: Dr. Kang

    We're re-launching our August Professor Highlight and invite you to attend our December 2022 Professor Highlight with Dr. Hye-Kyung Kang! Dr. Kang will discuss the topic: Social Justice-Focused and Community-Based Social Work: What is it and why is it important? 



    Hye-Kyung Kang, MA, MSW, PhD, serves as Chair and Associate Professor of the Social Work Department and as Director of the MSW Program. Dr. Kang’s research focuses on postcolonial social work practice, community organizing and mobilization in immigrant communities and communities of color, cultural citizenship, and critical pedagogy. In the recent years, she has been focusing on building community capacity and university-community partnership with marginalized communities through community-based participatory research.
